family of standards, also known as the ISO 27000 series, is a series of best
practices to help organizations improve their information security. ISO/IEC
27000 defines an information system as a set of applications, services,
information technology assets, or other information-handling components.

46 individual standards, including ISO 27000, which introduces the family as
well as clarifying key terms and definitions.
