The primary purpose of a cyber risk
assessment is to keep stakeholders informed and support proper responses to identified
risks. They also provide an executive summary to help executives and directors
make informed decisions about security.
Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is a term
used in business to describe risk management methods that firms use to identify
and mitigate risks that can pose problems for the enterprise. The ERM process
includes five (5) specific elements – strategy/objective setting, risk
identification, risk assessment, risk response, and communication/monitoring.
