Description
The HITECH
(Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health) Act of 2009 is
legislation created to stimulate the adoption of Electronic Health Records
(EHR) and the supporting technology in the United States. The HITECH Act also established a Health IT
Policy Committee to make recommendations to the head of ONC related to the
implementation of a national health IT infrastructure.
